X3: Albion Prelude is a space trading and combat simulator by German developer Egosoft and is the fifth game in their X series. An add-on to 2008's X3: Terran Conflict, X3: Albion Prelude features new content, functionality and improvements, including additional ships, stations, and sectors; a new plot line; war scenario sectors, and several stock exchanges. X3: Albion Prelude was released on Steam on 15 December 2011.

Gameplay[edit]

First things first, in many ways X3: Albion Prelude is a DLC/Expansion to X3: Terran Conflict, but in other ways, it is entirely its own game.

1. After the heated tensions of X3: Terran Conflict culminates in the destruction of the Torus Aethernal, the war goes live in X3: Albion Prelude.
2. Set in the years after X3: Albion Prelude, as the chaos caused by the gate shutdown really takes hold, X3: Farnham’s Legacy starts very differently to previous games in the X3 series. Trapped in an isolated area of space, players will first need to make use of the new exploration features to find their way back to civilisation.
